I’m just at the halfway mark of my first tour for “Take a Bow” and it is time to announce my SECOND one! It starts in Hoboken (New Jersey!) on July 6th with Cary Brothers.

Cary Brothers was the first friend I made in LA some 4-5 years ago now and it seems like we have talked about touring together ever since. He is one of my best friends and sometimes you just have to take the high road and throw your friend a bone, you know? I say that because his music is terrible. I thought his last record was a comedy record, which I thought was HILARIOUS…. Turns out, he is serious. His voice is pitchy and weak and his choice of melody and arrangement is outright laughable at best, but he is my friend and I feel like I need to help him out. Please understand and I am sorry in advance for his set.

Fittingly, my first friends I made in Brooklyn are the fellas from Harper Blynn, the band that is opening the show every night. I wish I could tell you that I like their music, but I don’t. I don’t care for it at all.

In other news, I am still on tour NOW and you can check greglaswell.com/tour for dates and tickets. I will also be doing another live chat on Justin.tv next Tuesday, June 1st at 3:30pm EST! So, there’s that.

I’m off to sound check in Philly now.

It was almost exactly a year ago today that I emailed my friends Tracy and TJ asking them if I could move my recording studio to their cabin in Mountainaire Arizona to record my next record. In the email I told them it would take about 3 weeks, I was there 6 months. Today, on release day, I find it fitting to publicly thank them for their generosity in opening up their lives and home to me while I worked on “Take a Bow.” I did a lot of growing both musically and personally during my time there and I will never forget it. My dog Shep also did a lot of personal growing, but he stayed the same musically.

I hope you enjoy the new record. I feel like I landed on my feet with this one.

If I had known I was going to have to learnhow to sing the song backwards for the video I would’ve written it quite differently… and with a lot of “oohs” and “ahs.” My parents make a very small cameo towards the middle.
