I am pleased to announce my first full-band tour for 2010 in support of my new record, “Take a Bow,” due out May 4th. I just finished a short solo tour and it’s going to be nice to make a little noise this time around. This record is very special to me for many reasons, most of which I will tell you about on the road, but for now, I will say that I have never been more excited to release anything else I have done. I look forward to seeing you in May! Tickets go on-sale this Friday and Saturday.

That’s the chorus of “Take Everything,” the first single from my new album, “Take a Bow” (out May 4th), spelled out phonetically, the way that I had to sing it for the music video. Clearly I didn’t think about how difficult it was going to be to learn my entire song backwards when I decided on a reversed video idea.
I haven’t done homework like that since college (that’s not true, I never did any homework in college. I don’t even really know why I went). To put it in perspective, the entire song took me about 3 days to record in the studio. It took me four days to learn it backwards. We’ll leak out a few sneak peeks very soon for your viewing pleasure. The song, however, will be released in its (forward) entirety on iTunes THIS Tuesday, March 2nd! Oh, and this song is NOT the same song as the one also named “Take Everything” on my covers EP. They don’t even share a mom.

I’m nearly at the end of my solo-residency shows and I wanted to thank those of you who have been a part of it.  It had been a long, long while since I played full shows completely on my own and it was nice to be able to share the songs as they exist the moment I finish writing them; before all the bells and whistles.  It was also nice to be able to come out after each show and say hello to many of you.  I look forward to coming back in May to make more noise with the band, but these shows have been very special to me.  So thank you.  Two more to go!  Chicago/Evanston tomorrow night and Boston February 23rd.
